MEN'S BASKETBALL UPENDS CALDWELL UNIVERSITY
Caldwell, N.J. (1/8/19) The Dominican College men's basketball team improved to 10-3 overall and 5-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC0 play this evening after earning a 67-55 victory over host, Caldwell University in a game played at the George R. Newman Center.

Senior forward Ian Gardener (Norwalk, Conn.) led all scorers with 19 points and added three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Guard Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) had a team best four assists to go along with nine points, while Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) also netted nine points.
Jason Copman (Cumberland, Md.) grabbed a game best nine rebounds, eight points, two blocks and one steal in the victory and freshman Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) came off the bench to net seven points.
Caldwell led 21-18 with 8:36 remaining in the first half when Dominican went on an 8-0 run, with Roundtree scoring five of the points, to jump ahead, 26-21 and would take a 31-27 advantage into the locker room at the break.
A Ginyard free throw with 6:18 to go in regulation gave the Chargers their biggest lead of the contest, 62-39, and they went on to the 76-55 win.
The Chargers shot 50% from the floor (13-26), the three-point arc (4-8) and the charity stripe (6-12) in the second half.
Dominican will travel to conference opponent, Georgian Court University, this coming Saturday.
