CHARGERS COMPLETE SERIES SWEEP OVER CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Bronxville, N.Y. (2/13/19) The Dominican College men's basketball team completed the series sweep over host, Concordia College, this evening following a 92-83 victory in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Meyer Athletic Center.

Dominican completes the series sweep after besting their counterparts, 72-60 on January 19, 2019 and extends their all-time series record to 29-12. The Chargers also tie a conference record for made free-throws in a CACC game with 36 free throws made on 42 attempts (85.7%).
Juniors Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) and Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) led four Chargers in double figures with 23 points each. Rodwell went 9-10 from the foul line, while Grant finished 13-14. Grant also produced a night best six assists and a team high 10 rebounds.
Guard Tavon Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) came off the bench to net 16 points, while Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Senior Ian Gardener (Norwalk, Conn.) tallied nine points and eight boards in the win.
Concordia held their biggest lead of the game,17-8, with 12:01 left in the first half, but the Chargers would rally and eventually use a Rodwell trey to knot the score, 34-34. Ginyard would later re-tie the score at 40-all on a layup with a little over a minute left, but the Clippers would net a three-point basket with 41 ticks on the clock to take the 43-40 advantage into the locker room.
In the second half, the contest saw their fourth tie, 54-54 with 12:45 to play when Dominican went on a 13-6 run to pull ahead 67-60 and would later extend their lead to double-digits, 74-63, on two free throws from Rodwell with a little under six minutes left. The Clippers would close the game on a 12-11 edge for the final 92-83 DC win.
Tonight completed a three-game road trip for the Chargers as they return home this coming Saturday afternoon when they host Goldey-Beacom College on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm following the women's game.
