MEN'S BASKTBALL EARNS COMEBACK WIN OVER LIGHTNING
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/30/22) The Dominican College men's basketball team earned a comeback victory over the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College by a score of 69-62.

With the win, the Chargers extend their winning streak to three games and improve to 13-3 (6-2 CACC) on the season.
The Chargers handed the Lightning the loss as GBC fell to 10-8 (6-3 CACC).
Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) led the way for the Chargers with 25 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Joseph Merrill (Derry, N.H.) added eight points including two three pointers.
Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.), Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.), and Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each finished with seven points. For the Lightning, Nazim Derry was the leading scorer with 34 points including six three pointers. Mekhi Collins finished with nine points and eight rebounds. Mattia Morini recorded a team-high nine rebounds. Juran Ligonde added eight points and eight rebounds.
By the end of the first half, the Lightning held a lead of 29-22 over the Chargers. The Lightning were led by Derry's 14 points.
GBC started off the second half strong by outscoring DC 18-9 and extended to their largest lead of the game which was 15 points. The Chargers fought their way back by outscoring the Lightning 31-15 and took their first lead of the game with two minutes remaining.
The Lightning tied the game back up but DC regained the lead after a Roundtree bucket with just over a minute left to play and DC secured the victory. Burgess led the comeback with 20 second half points. Johnson's seven points were all scored in the second half with just over three minutes remaining including the big three pointer to give the Chargers their first lead of the game.
Roundtree added nine second half points to help the Chargers get back into the game and hit a lay-up to put the Chargers up with one minute left.
Today's game was the 33rd Annual Bobby Mulligan Memorial Game and in a pre-game ceremony, the Annual Bobby Mulligan Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Wahaad Johnson.
DC will be back in action on Tuesday, February 1st when they travel to Felician University for a conference game with the Golden Falcons. The game is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
