Bloomfield, N.J. (2/21/22) The Dominican College men's basketball team, currently ranked sixth in the East Region, defeated host Bloomfield College, 81-77, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played in the Bloomfield College Gym.

The win improves the Chargers record to 18-6 overall and 11-5 in conference play, while the Bears fall to 9-16 overall and 7-8 in the CACC play.
Forward Jalen Burgess (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.) led all scorers with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted 16 points, while Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) recorded 15 points and seven boards in the win.
Junior Brandt Roundtree (Plainfield, N.J.) tallied 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals and Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) dished out a game best six assists.
The Bears were led by Andres Fulgencio with 18 points.
Dominican jumped out to a 12-4 lead with 15:50 left in the first half as Johnson converted two free throw attempts, but Bloomfield would rally and the game would go into the intermission tied at 37-37.
The score was once again tied at 46-all with 15:10 to play when the Bears scored nine consecutive points to push in front, 55-46, with 13:41 on the clock. Trailing 64-55 with under nine minutes to go, DC went on a 10- run to re-claim a 65-64 advantage with a little over six minutes left. Ahead 74-73 with two and half minutes to play, the Chargers closed out the contest on a 7-4 spurt for the 81-77 victory.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Nyack College for Senior Day in the Hennessy Center.
