CHARGERS TOP MOLLOY UNIVERSITY IN FINALE OF 10TH ANNUAL DANIEL SULLIVAN TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/20/22) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team concluded the 10th Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Tournament with a 73-68 victory over the visiting Lions of Molloy University in a game played tonight on Coach Baxter Court.

Following the win Dominican improves to 5-0 overall while the Lions fall to 0-5 on the season.
The Chargers were led by guard Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with a game high 18 points (12-12 from the charity stripe).
Guard Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) netted 14 points (5-8 from the floor), while Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) scored nine points, while Victor Ogbo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in eight points and four rebounds. Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) and Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) pulled down four rebounds each in the win.
Dominican held the 26-25 advantage with 5:43 remaining in the first frame but used a 13-2 closing half run to claim a 39-27 lead at the break. Serrano scored 12 points (4-5 from the floor, 2-2 from the three point arc) in the half.
The Chargers opemed the second half with back-to-back baskets to gain their biggest lead of the game, 43-27, with 18:45 on the clock. Dominican led 64-48 with under seven minutes left, but the Lions used an 18-4 tear to cut the deficit to two points (68-66) with 54 seconds left. White went 1-2 from the foul line with 20 ticks left and Joseph Merrill (Derry, N.H.) closed out the game with a layup for the final 73-68 win.
Up next for Dominican is a road non-conference game at Bentley University on November 26th. Game time is set for 3pm.
