CHARGERS DEFEAT GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE ADVANCE TO CACC SEMIFINALS
Wilmington, Del. (3/5/24) The #3 seed in the north Chargers defeated the #2 seed in the south Goldey-Beacom College by a score of 93-79 to advance to CACC Semifinals.
Isaiah Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) recorded his first career double-double by posting career highs in points with 19 and rebounds with 12. Jaden Honis (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored a game-high 22 points including 4-5 from three-point range.
Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) finished with 16 points while Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) scored 13 points and recorded a team-high five assists.
The Lightning were led by Zayon Marsh who scored 22 points including 10-12 from the charity stripe and added seven boards. Omari Banks scored 20 points and recorded nine boards while Ayshion Centeno added 10 points.
The Chargers had a strong first half outscoring GBC 45-31 led by Jaden Honis' 12 points and four three-pointers. Dominican ended the first half on a 21-12 run.
DU extended their lead to 15 points in the second half and the Lightning used an 18-6 run to close the gap and cut the DU lead to three points.
Dominican never lost the lead and used an 18-9 run to extend their lead to double digits. The Lightning fought their way back again to cut the deficit to single digits but the Chargers secured the 93-79 victory.
With the win the Chargers advance to the CACC Semifinals this Saturday from Caldwell University.
