22 S-As NAMED TO 2023-24 CACC MBB ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (4/16/24) Twenty-two (22) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 12 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
University of Bridgeport led the way with four honorees, while CACC semifinalist Dominican University was next with three student-athletes making the unit.
Dominican's Darryl Brown Jr, Michael O'Mahony and Joshua Serrano were all named to the team for the first time.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Post University's Harrison Warnock posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was the lone student-athlete on the list to earn the honor.
♦ Three student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher -- Warnock, Dominican's Michael O'Mahony and Thomas Jefferson University's Erik Timko.
♦ Warnock was joined by Jefferson's Antonin Kemkeng and Wilmington University's Caleb Matthews as the three student-athletes who were named to the All-Academic Team for the fourth time in their respective careers.
♦ Timko and Post's Derrick Thomas II were named to the team for the third time.
♦ Four were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The eight teams to qualify for the CACC post-season tournament combined to have 15 honorees make the all-academic team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
