CHARGERS EDGED IN OVERTIME BY AGRONAUTS
Hillburn, N.Y. (3/12/15) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team suffered a tough 7-6 overtime loss this afternoon to the visiting Agronauts of Notre Dame de Namur University in a non-conference game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

The Argonauts scored the game winning goal with five seconds remaining in the first overtime period for the 7-6 win.
The Chargers scored first as sophomore attacker Conor Reeves (Tappan, N.Y.) netted his first of two game goals just 53 seconds into the game. Midfielder Ryan Wiberly (Setauket, N.Y.) gave DC a 2-0 advantage with 6:26 left in the first quarter. NDNU ended the quarter with a goal for a 2-1 score.
The second quarter belonged to the Argonauts as they scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead at the break.
Reeves struck again to get things started in the third quarter with a goal off the assist from Hunter Curran (Virginia Beach, Va.) with 13:36 on the clock and NDNU added a goal of their own with 9:17 left in the quarter to make the score 5-3. Dominican rallied with a 3-0 run as attacker Maxwell Odynski (Northport, N.Y.) started things off with a goal off the pass from Reeves and Curran added a goal a minute and a half later off the assist from Jimmy Anderson (Hewlett, N.Y.) to knot the score at 5-5. Christopher Augustin (Bellport, N.Y.) regained a 6-5 lead for the Chargers with 2:43 left in the third quarter.
The Argonauts scored the lone goal of the fourth quarter to force overtime and netted the game winner with five ticks left on the clock for the 7-6 win.
Charger goalie Carlos Villamain (Montgomery, N.Y.) made 16 saves in the loss.
NDNU led in both shots, 44-34 and ground balls, 44-36 and faceoffs, 9-7 while the Chargers had 21 clears to the Argonauts 18.
Dominican is slated to be in action on Saturday afternoon as they open up East Coast Conference (ECC) play at Roberts Wesleyan University.
