Hillburn, N.Y. (4/7/17) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team lost an East Coast Conference (ECC) game to #11 Mercy College, 16-6 this afternoon in a game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/7/17) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team lost an East Coast Conference (ECC) game to #11 Mercy College, 16-6 this afternoon in a game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
Junior midfielder Kevin Mayer (Wantagh, N.Y.) got the Chargers on the scoreboard with 4:26 left in the second quarter on an unassisted goal.
Attacker Nick D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.Y.) netted the next two Dominican goals, one in the third quarter off the pass from Emmanuel Adjaye (Bel Air, Md.) and the second began scoring in the final quarter.
Evan Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) netted his first game goal with a little over ten minutes left, while Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) made the score 15-5 with under five minutes left.
Senior Sean Driscoll (Stony Point, N.Y.) netted DC's final goal off the pass from Pierce.
Matthew Sandelier (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) made 14 saves in 45 minutes, while John Rooney (Bellmore, N.Y.) had six saves in the fourth.
Dominican won 12 of 26 face offs and recorded 10 clears in 16 attempts.
With the loss, the Chargers are now 4-6 overall and 1-4 in ECC play.
