Hillburn, N.Y. (4/24/17) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell in East Coast Conference (ECC) action to the visiting Lions of Molloy College, 17-3, this afternoon in a game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/24/17) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell in East Coast Conference (ECC) action to the visiting Lions of Molloy College, 17-3, this afternoon in a game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
Following the loss, the Chargers now stand at 5-8 overall and 1-6 in ECC play.
Junior Evan Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored Dominican's first goal of the contest with 5:52 left in the first quarter.
Kevin Mayer (Wantagh, N.Y.) cut the deficit to 4-2 with 11:16 remaining in the second quarter and rookie Michael Reyes (East Meadow, N.Y.) netted a goal off the pass from Nick D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.Y.) with 2:17 to play before the break to make the score 8-3.
The second half belonged to the Lions as they went on to the win.
Matthew Sandelier (Ft.Lauderdale, Fla.) made four saves in the first 15 minutes, while Carlos Villaman (Montgomery, N.Y.) had seven saves in 30 minutes of action.
Josh Rooney (Bellmore, N.Y.) was between the pipes for the final 15 minutes and had one save.
Dominican will be in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the Torne Valley Sports Complex as they host Post University.
