Boca Raton, Fla. (2/28/18) The Lynn University Fighting Knights turned back the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 14-5, this evening in a non-conference game played at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
With the loss, the Chargers are now 0-3 on the season.
Lynn (2-1) netted two goals in the first quarter and added four more in the second to take a 6-0 advantage into the locker room at the break.
Dominican got on the scoreboard with 11:08 left in the third quarter as sophomore Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) recorded the unassisted goal.
Senior Ryan Wiberly (Setauket, N.Y.) opened the fourth quarter scoring with a goal off the assist by freshman Lorcan Teahan (Sparkill, N.Y.). Nicolas Jelovcic (Massapequa, N.Y.) netted the next goal off the dish from Pierce to make the score 11-3 with 12 minutes left in the game.
Nick D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.Y.) scored a man-up goal with 4:38 on the clock and Teahan ended the scoring with a goal for the final 14-5 score.
Goalie Matthew Sandelier (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) tallied 13 saves in 40 minutes of action. Joseph Fabiilli (Glen Head, N.Y.) had two saves in almost 14 minutes and John Rooney (Bellmore, N.Y.) had one save in the final 5:12.
The Chargers were 14-17 in clears and 1-2 in man-up opportunities.
DC is scheduled to have their home-opener on Wednesday, March 7th when they host Americian International College.
