Senior midfielder Chris Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) led the Dominican offense with three goals and one assist in the loss.
Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) netted the other Charger goal.
Dominican (0-6) opened the contest with the first two scores as Heegan recorded the unassisted goal with 6:34 remaining in the first quarter. Sophomore Pierce followed almost three minutes later with a goal off the pass from Heegan for the 2-0 DC advantage. The Spartans got on the scoreboard with one second left to make the score 2-1.
The second quarter belonged to STAC as they scored five straight goals to take a 6-2 lead into the intermission.
The Spartans continued on their run with seven more consecutive scores to increase their lead, before Heegan broke the run with 4:01 left in the third quarter on the man-up opportunity off the dish from Coleman Chrzan (Howell, N.J.).
Heegan completed the hat trick with 14:41 left in regulation off the assist from freshman Lorcan Teahan (Sparkill, N.Y.) to net the only goal of the final quarter for the final 13-4 STAC win.
Joseph Fabiilli (Glen Head, N.Y.) made five saves in 35:28 of play in the Charger net. Senior Matthew Sandelier (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) had four saves in 9:32 of action and John Rooney (Bellmore, N.Y.) made seven saves in the final 15 minutes.
The Chargers continue their road trip on Tuesday afternoon as they travel to non-conference foe, Molloy College.
