HERNANDEZ AND PIERCE SCORE TWO EACH IN LOSS TO MOLLOY

Rockville Centre, N.Y. (3/27/18) The Chargers fell to Molloy College on Tuesday in a nonconference game by a score of 9-4. The Chargers were seeking their first win of the season as their record now drops to 0-7. Molloy improved to 4-3 in the win over the Chargers.
In the first quarter, both teams started out strong with two goals each to open the game. Christian Hernandez (Farmingdale, N.Y.) got the Chargers on the board with 6:40 left in the first quarter for a 1-0 lead. Molloy answered less than a minute later to tie the game at 1-1. Hernandez gave the Chargers the lead back with his second of the game to make the score 2-1 Chargers. With six seconds left, Tim Steinman tied the game at two.
Less than a minute into the second quarter, Jeff Hauser gave Molloy their first lead of the game. The Chargers tied the game at 3-3 as Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) scored the only goal for the Chargers in the second quarter. Molloy finished the first half strong with three straight goals in the final minutes of the first half.
Molloy continued their scoring run over the Chargers in the third quarter when Colin Kotarski scored his third of the game and the third quarter's only goal.
The scoring run continued into the fourth quarter as Molloy extended out to a 9-3 lead over the Chargers. The Molloy run was put to an end when Pierce scored his second of the game to make the score 9-4 which ultimately became the final score.
The Chargers will return home when they host American International College at 1:00 PM on Thursday March 29th.
