NINE STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO INAUGURAL CACC MEN'S LACROSSE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

(5/31/8) -- Nine student-athletes on Thursday were named to the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Dominican College and CACC Champion Georgian Court University each led the way with three honorees apiece. Chestnut Hill College followed with two, while Post University sported one honoree.
Dominican's Kyle Souza led the way for all honorees with the highest cumulative grade point average of 3.97. Georgian Court University's Brandon Razler was next in line with a mark of 3.82.
Teammates Kevin Mayer and Shaun Palmer were also named to the team with grade point averages of 3.69 and 3.68.
The 2018 year marked the inaugural season for the sport in the CACC, as men's lacrosse became the 16th championship sport in the league. Georgian Court defeated Chestnut Hill in a thrilling final back on April 29 in Lakewood, N.J.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
