CARSON AND GIFFORD RECORD CAREER HIGHS IN OVERTIME LOSS TO CARDINALS

(3/31/19) Freshman Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) scored a career high five goals and added one assist, while Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.) made a career high 14 saves in an overtime 17-16 loss to the visiting Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit University in a game played this afternoon.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 1-6 overall while the Cardinals improve to 3-7 on the season.
Junior attacker Nicholas D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.Y.) recorded four goals and one assist, while Ryan Fischer (Monroe, N.Y.) added three goals and one assist.
WJU led 16-14 with under four minutes to play in the fourth quater when freshman attacker Luke Martini (Abington, Mass.) scored a goal off the assist from Carson with 2:40 to go.
Senior attacker Shaun Palmer (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored his first goal of the season on the man-up opportunity off the dish from Marcos Pierce (Middleburg, Va.) with seven seconds left in regulation to tie the game and force the overtime period.
With 32 ticks left in the first overtime, Jamison Smith netted the game-winner off the pass from Michael Schonhiutt for the 17-16 win.
Lorcan Teahan (Sparkill, N.Y.), Ryan Ward (Galloway, N.J.) and Martini all scored a goal in the loss.
Dominican returns to action on Tuesday, April 2nd when they travel to Mercy College.
