MEN'S LACROSSE TURNED AWAY BY POST UNIVERSITY

The Chargers fall to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play after the loss. Post improves to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.
Gerardo Caltagirone (Tappan, N.Y.) started in net for the Chargers and made 11 saves but suffered the loss. Cole George started in goal for the Eagles and made eight saves and recorded the win.
William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) led the way for the Chargers with three goals scored and took seven shots. Zachary Souza (Stratford, Conn.) scored two goals and also took seven shots.
Ryan Gonzalez (Warwick, N.Y.) and Kyle Benedetto (Wantagh, N.Y.) each added one goal. Richard Spivak (Center Moriches, N.Y.) and Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) each recorded one assist.
Souza scored the first goal of the game less than a minute into the first quarter. The Eagles answered with five straight goals. Benedetto ended the run late in the quarter to cut the deficit to 5-2.
Gordon scored the first goal of the second quarter to cut the deficit to two goals but the Eagles finished the first half with five unanswered goals.
Post extended their lead to 11-3 to begin the third quarter. Dominican cut into the lead with three straight goals but the Eagles ended the third quarter with a goal to extend their lead to 12-6.
Post out scored Dominican 6-1 in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory.
The Eagles were led by Robbie McGrayne who scored a team-high seven goals. Dylan Heald finished with three goals and two assists for five points.
The Chargers will return home next Wednesday, April 12th when they host the University of Bridgeport at the Torne Valley Sports Complex at 4:00 PM.
