FIVE CHARGERS NAMED TO 2024 CACC MLAX ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (5/29/24) Fifty-seven (57) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Eight of the nine CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
Georgian Court University led the way with 12 honorees, while Post University followed with 11 student-athletes making the all-academic squad.
Dominican University New York had five players named to the team. Brian Barker (Wyckoff, N.J.) was named to the team for the fourth time, while Eric Greenwood (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and Jordan Scott (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) earned their second All-Academic honors. Sophomores Ryan Gonzalez (Warwick, N.Y.) and Brenden O'Connor (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) make their first appearance on the team.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Two student-athletes -- Dominican University's Brendan O'Connor and Post's Cole George -- posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages.
♦ Ten (10) student-athletes posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Dominican's Brian Barker and Wilmington University's Logan Stinson were named to the unit for the fourth time in their respective careers.
♦ Nine were named to the unit for the third time in their respective careers.
♦ Ten (10) were named to the team for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The five teams to qualify for the CACC playoffs combined to have 42 student-athletes earn All-Academic status.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (both academically and athletically).
