GEORGIAN COURT RALLYS TO DEFEAT MEN'S SOCCER

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/9/17) The Georgian Court University men's soccer team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to net the game-winning score in the 81st minute to edge host, Dominican College, 3-2, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) showdown on the DC Soccer Field.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/9/17) The Georgian Court University men's soccer team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to net the game-winning score in the 81st minute to edge host, Dominican College, 3-2, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) showdown on the DC Soccer Field.

The loss drops the Chargers to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The Lions struck first with a goal at the 9:14 mark and despite Dominican outshooting their opponents, 10-6 for the half, took the 1-0 advantage into the locker room at the break.

Dominican got on the board at the 52:24 when forward Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain) netted his first goal of the seaon off the assist from Fernando Gutierrez (Mexico City, Mexico) on a shot from the top of the box.

Four minutes later, Monton gave Dominican the 2-1 lead on the unassisted goal.

A Charger red card at 63:58 forced the tema to play the rest of the contest a man down and the Lions were able to capitalize on that and tie the game in the 70th minute.

They netted the game-winning score at the 81:21 en route to the 3-2 win.

DC keeper Joshua Stephens (Stoney Creek, Ontario) had one save in the loss.

Both teams tallied 16 shots in the game, while Dominican held the 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

DC will travel to Felician University this coming Wednesday night. Game time is slatted for 7:30 pm.
