JEFFERSON SCORES THREE SECOND HALF GOALS TO BEAT DOMINICAN

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/23/17) Dominican men's soccer hosted the Rams of Jefferson on Saturday in hopes to build off their first win of the year. Dominican started off the game at a good pace and with a lot of energy and outplayed the Rams in the in the first half.
The Chargers struck first at the 20:39 mark when Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain) scored off the assist from teammate Lester Gudiel (Stamford, CT) to give the Chargers the lead 1-0. About 20 minutes later the Chargers extended their lead to 2-0 at the 43:23 mark when Fernando Gutierrez (Mexico City, Mexico) scored off of a cross in front of the net from Gudiel for his second assist of the game. The Chargers entered the break with a 2-0 lead and had all of the momentum on their side.
As for the second half, it seemed like the game had taken a turn when the Rams broke through early in the half at the 50:52 mark when Seiji Rose cut the lead in half off of a penalty kick to make the score 2-1. Dominican seemed to have taken control of the game back as time for the Rams to tie the game was running out. Until the Chargers gave up the lead when Theophilus Ijeboi tied the game at two at the 87:48 mark. The Rams were able to score one more goal before regulation time ran out. The game winner was score with 16 seconds left in the game at 89:44 when Pedro Neto scored off a corner kick who was assisted by both Jason Rocha and Seiji Rose. The game then ended 3-2 and the Chargers suffered one of their most crushing losses of the year.
Charger keeper Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) made eight saves in the loss.
Dominican falls to 1-7 (1-4 CACC) and will travel to Nyack College on Wednesday when they seek to improve their record and get themselves back into the win column.
