LIGHTNING SHUT OUT MEN'S SOCCER
Wilmington, Del. (10/13/17) The Dominican College men's soccer team were shut out by host, Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on NCS Field.

Wilmington, Del. (10/13/17) The Dominican College men's soccer team were shut out by host, Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on NCS Field.
With the win, Goldey-Beacom College improves to 11-3-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play, while the Chargers drop to 2-12 overall and 2-8 in the CACC.
Both teams played a scoreless first half, with the Lightning outshooting the Chargers 13-4 and holding the 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Keeper Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) made five saves in the first frame.
The GBC offense came alive in the final 45 minutes as they scored three goals on 12 shots. The three scores came in a span of 10 minutes with the first in the 51st minute, the second in the 56th and the last in the 58th minute for the win. Nicholas Ladeira had two of the three Lightning goals to lead the team.
Sophomore Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain) had four shots for the Chargers.
Stephens tacked on four more saves in the second half to finish with nine in the contest.
The Chargers will travel to Bloomfield College this coming Tuesday night at 7pm.
