Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/23/18) The Dominican College men's soccer team shutout the Bears from Bloomfield College by a score of 3-0. The Chargers improve to 6-11 (4-8 CACC) with the win while Bloomfield falls to 6-9 (4-7 CACC).
The Bears took seven shots in the loss and recorded one shot on goal. Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo) and Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) helped keep the Bears off the board.
The Chargers took nine shots and five were recorded on goal. Robert Kornel made two saves for the Bears. Maximinio Martinez (Ciudad De Panama, Panama) led the Chargers by taking four shots.
Marouf Barry (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Chargers with two first-half goals in the win. The first goal came at the 4:37 mark and the second came at the 30:59 mark. Both goals were assisted by Maximino Martinez to help give Dominican the early 2-0 lead. The Chargers took a 2-0 lead into halftime over the Bears.
The Chargers extended their lead to 3-0 when Martinez scored at the 77:31 mark which was assisted by Lester Gudiel (Stamford, Conn.) which helped secure the win over the Bears.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, October 27th when they host Queens College for Senior Day at 2:30 PM.
