CACC MEN'S SOCCER PRESEASON COACHES POLL RELEASED

New Haven, Conn. (819/19) -- Wilmington University tops the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, which was announced on Monday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Wildcats, who claimed the 2018 CACC regular season title and reached the conference final, earned 160 points in the voting, including eight first-place votes. The voting for the poll was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches in the sport.

New Haven, Conn. (819/19) -- Wilmington University tops the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, which was announced on Monday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Wildcats, who claimed the 2018 CACC regular season title and reached the conference final, earned 160 points in the voting, including eight first-place votes. The voting for the poll was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches in the sport.

Defending CACC champ Post University was second in the preseason poll with 153 points and four first-place nods, while Georgian Court University rounded out the top three of the standings with 141 points. Both WilmU and Post reached the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament last fall, while GCU reached the semifinals of the CACC Championship.

The 2019 CACC schedule kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 5, with several teams in action, as the regular season will be a build up to the CACC Men's Soccer Championship, which will be staged Nov. 11, 15 & 17. The top-eight teams following the conclusion of the regular season will advance to the tournament with the first round will be staged on Monday, Nov. 11, at the sites of the highest seeds. The semifinals and finals will both be held at Post University in Waterbury, Conn., on Nov. 15 and 17. It will mark the second year in a row and the fourth time in the last six years the school has served as the host institution for the final stages of the conference championship. The winner of the CACC Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, which will be held the following week at a site to be determined.
