Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/24/19) The Dominican College men's soccer team hosted non-conference opponent Mercyhurst University on Tuesday at OMM Field #5. 

The Chargers defeated the Lakers by a score of 2-1 to improve their overall record to 2-4 on the season. The Lakers fall to 2-1-1 on the season. 

Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo) started in net for the Chargers. Doll recorded two saves in the game. The Chargers took 11 shots in the game and recorded five shots on goal. 

Nicholas Julien (Spring Valley, N.Y.) scored both goals for the Chargers. Julien put the Chargers on the board first with a goal at 16:38 of the first half. The Lakers tied the game just about three minutes later when Connor Wilkinson scored at the 19:26 mark. 

The game remained tied at halftime and for a portion of the second half. Julien scored his second goal of the game and put the Chargers back on top at 68:50. The Chargers eventually closed out the 2-1 victory. 

Maximino Casares Martinez (Ciudad De Panama, Panama) and Jean Paul Lyons (Toronto, Ontario) each recorded one assist on the goals by Nicholas Julien. 

The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, September 28th when they travel to Wilmington University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at 3:00 PM.
