Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/16/19) The Dominican College men's soccer squad downed host, Felician University, 5-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
With the win, Dominican improves to 5-8 overall and 3-4 in CACC play.
Freshman midfielder Marco Oliveri (Whitestone, N.Y.) netted his first collegiate goal at 14:58 on a shot from 10 yards out off the dish from Maximino Casares Martinez (Ciudad De Panama, Panama).
Martinez would later score his first of two games goals in the 41st minute on a back heel shot off the pass into traffice from Ewan Gray (Middlesbrough, England) to give DC the 2-0 lead.
In the second half, senior Jose Mendez (Jesup, Georgia) tallied back-to-back goals to increase the lead to 4-0. His first goal came at 53:42 as he beat the Golden Falcon keeper following a pass from Martinez. The second goal came in the 66th minute with Gray being credited with the assist.
Two minutes later Martinez netted his second game goal off the dish from Gray for the 5-0 final score.
Martinez finished with two goals and two assists, while Mendez also had two goals.
Gray had a career high three assists in the contest.
Keeper Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo.) made four saves
The Chargers return to action next Tuesday when they host Post University at the OMM Soccer Complex.
