Lafayette Hill, Pa. (10/26/19) The Dominican College men's soccer team defeated the Griffins by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Chargers improve their record to 6-9 (4-5 CACC) on the season while the Griffins fall to 3-7-3 (2-5-2 CACC).
Tyler Doll (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded two saves and earned the shutout victory in net for the Chargers.
The game was scoreless through the first half. DC took six shots in the first half while the Griffins took three shots but both teams were unable to break the scoreless tie.
For most of the second half, the game remained scoreless. John Paul Lyons (Toronto, Ontario) broke the scoreless tie with a goal at the 74:37 mark.
Ewan Gray (Middlesbrough, England) added to the lead just under two minutes later for the 2-0 lead. The Chargers held onto the 2-0 lead and secured their sixth win of the season.
Maximino Casares Martinez (Ciudad De Panama, Panama), Antonio Zhu Sanchez (Alfafar Valencia, Spain), and Fredy Rosales-Santos (Norwalk, Conn.) each recorded one assist in the win. Martinez led the Chargers in shots with six.
The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, October 30th when they return home to host the Clippers of Concordia College at 2:00 PM at OMM Field #5.
