CHARGERS AND LIONS PLAY TO A 2-2 TIE

Rockville Centre, N.Y. (8/31/22) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with the Lions of Molloy University. 

The Chargers now hold a record of 0-1-1 and the Lions now stand at 1-0-2 overall on the season.

The game was scoreless until the final minute of the first half. Gio Fabiano scored the first goal of the game with less than one minute to play in the first half to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Jonas Jacobsen recorded an assist on the goal.

Dominican scored two goals in the second half after trailing 1-0 at halftime. Armando Morales (Jupiter, Fla.) scored at the 48:06 mark when he scored on a cross from Lucas Regos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) who earned the assist on the tying goal. 

At the 84:23 mark, the Chargers took a 2-1 lead after Ewan Gray (Middlesbrough, England) scored an unassisted goal. 

The Lions answered back when Ryan Dobson scored at the 85:00 mark to tie the game 2-2 and the score remained tied for the rest of the game. 

The Chargers took 13 total shots as a team. Ewan Gray, Marouf Barry (Bronx, N.Y.), and Eduardo Phillip Moreno Silva (Sorocaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil) each took three shots. 

Nick Conklu started in net for the Lions and made eight saves. 

David Arteaga (Middlesex, N.J.) and Lucas Silva Pereria (Divinopolis-MG, Brazil) split time in goal for the Chargers. Arteaga made two saves and Pereria finished with one save. 

The Chargers return to action on Saturday, September 3rd when they travel to the University of New Haven. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
