West Haverstraw, N.Y. (9/20/23) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team fell in conference action this afternoon to the Golden Falcons of Felician University in a game played at the Town of Haverstraw Recreational Facility.
The Chargers fall to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play on the season. Felician improves to 3-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the CACC.
Sophomore goalkeeper David Arteaga (Middlesex, N.J.) made eight saves in the game for Dominican but suffered the loss. Emanuele Moretti made four saves and earned the win in net for Felician to improve to 3-1-1.
Lorenzo Ferrari got the scoring started for the Golden Falcon at the 7:38 mark for the early 1-0 lead.
Dominican tied the score at the 22:56 when Freshman forward Noa Ahlfors (Lahti, Finland) scored his third goal of the season. Simon Ostrowski (Wyckoff, N.J.) picked up the assist on the goal. The game remained tied at 1-1 into halftime.
Felician scored three unanswered second half goals to extend their lead to 4-1. Hugo Rodriguez gave the Golden Falcons the lead at 61:48 and Matt Greenway extended the lead to two goals 11 minutes later. Tim Jaeger scored the fourth and final goal for Felician at 83:08.
Manuel Otero finished the game with two assists while Massimo Girardi and Riccardo Benini each picked up one assist.
Marouf Barry (Bronx, N.Y.) finished the game with a team-high six shots for the Chargers while Ahlfors added three shots.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Holy Family University for a CACC contest with the Tigers at 3:30 PM.
