DC ATHLETES IN THE COMMUNITY: BILL FORTUNE RACE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/13/18) Members of the Dominican College men's track team performed community service at the 8th Annual Bill Fortune 10k & 5k race held this past Saturday at Rockland Lake State Park.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/13/18) Members of the Dominican College men's track team performed community service at the 8th Annual Bill Fortune 10k & 5k race held this past Saturday at Rockland Lake State Park.
The athletes; Connor Croke, Cameron Whitton, Oscar Vidal, Ryan McKivergan, and Jaylen Cruz will all receive community service letters from the Rockland Road Runners for their service. They worked in setting up, course marshaling, administering refreshments and directing runners on the course.
All proceeds of the race benefit Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland, Inc.
The Rockland Road Runners (RRR) is a unique running club in that proceeds from all of its races support local charities. The Bill Fortune race is one of three events by the RRR in its mission to serve the homebound, seniors and others in Rockland County through a multi-purpose agency which focuses on nutritional, recreational and social support programs.
