Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (4/9/22)  Dominican College thrower Adam Lenn (Thiells, N.Y.) set a new school record and personal best in the shot put event last night at the Vassar Invitational, hosted by Vassar College.

Lenn also took the top spot in the discus throw, while Brandon Adams (Highland Mills, N.Y.) won the high jump.

The Chargers finished in fourth place with a team score of 103 points.

Highlights

• Lenn set a new school record and personal best in the shot put with a throw of 12.71m (41'8.5").
• The discus event also saw Lenn bring home the victory with a throw of 41.09m (134'10").
• Adams won the high jump event with a jump of 1.80m (5'10.75").
• Teammate Louis Rodriguez (Monsey, N.Y.) finished in second place in the shot put with a throw of 10.50m (34'5.5") and Lawrence Ribeiro (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) took fourth place with a throw of 9.64m (31'7.5").
• Rodriguez took fourth place in the discus event with a throw of 32.60m (106'11").
• The hammer throw event saw Ribeiro take fourth place with a throw of 28.43m (93'3").
• Lowell Pierrette (Elmsford, N.Y.) took second place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.42, while Brian Thompson (North Bergen, N.J.) finished in third place with a time of 11.47.
• Thompson took second place in the 200m dash with a time of 23.00 and Ezra Evans (Greensboro, N.C.) ran a time of 23.21 to take third place and Olatunji Adewole (North Plainfield, N.J.) finished in fifth place with a time of 23.77.
• In the long jump event, Evans took third place with a jump of 6.35m (20'10"), while Kenney Lauredent (Pomona, N.Y.) finished in fifth place with a jump of 5.88m (19'3.5").
• The 4x400m relay team of Adewole, Dariel Suarez (North Bergen, N.J.), Thompson and Steven Smith (Yonkers, N.Y.) took fourth place with a time of 3:35.03.
