PIASECKI AND PLANTE EARN CACC WEEKLY AWARDS
Orangeburg, NY (5/10/10) Dominican College softball players, Cara Piasecki and Julie Plante, have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week as was announced by the conference office today.
Orangeburg, NY (5/10/10) Dominican College softball players, Cara Piasecki and Julie Plante, have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week as was announced by the conference office today.
Piasecki, a senior infielder from Port Monmouth, NJ, hit
.530 with a .600 on-base percentage
at the CACC Tournament with six runs scored and one RBI. She
hit a home run in the championship game over Georgian Court and
registered two hits in four of the five games.
Piasecki was named the CACC Tournament MVP and to
the All-Tournament Team for her stellar play during the
tournament. This is her second Player of the Week honors this
season.
Plante, a rookie first basemen from Swansea, MA, hit .412
in five CACC Tournament games with
five runs scored, five RBI and two doubles. In two championship
round games vs. GCU, went 5-for-8 with two runs and two RBI.
