CHILDERS AND CORRAO EARN DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION HONORS

Orangeburg, NY (5/9/12) Dominican College softball players Delaney Childers and Ashley Corrao have been named to the Daktronics Division II Softball All-Region First Team as was announced yesterday. Childers also received the Pitcher of the Year honors.

Orangeburg, NY (5/9/12) Dominican College softball players Delaney Childers and Ashley Corrao have been named to the Daktronics Division II Softball All-Region First Team as was announced yesterday. Childers also received the Pitcher of the Year honors.

Childers, a junior left-handed pitcher from Johnstown, OH, was voted the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Year, led the CACC with a 1.08 earned run average and 10 shutouts this year. She pitched 214.1 innings this season and finished with 24‐8 record this season that included two wins against C.W. Post and Adelphi University at the NCAA East Regional. She was named the CACC Pitcher of the Week three times this year and earned a one‐time ECAC weekly selection. Childers was also second in the league in strikeouts with 180.

Corrao, a junior catcher from Staten Island, NY, makes her first appearance on the Daktronics All-Region Team. She made her second straight appearance on the All-CACC First Team. She finished third on the team in batting average, while ranking sixth in the CACC in batting and fourth in runs batted in. Corrao has started all 56 games behind the plate this season.
