SOFTBALL CHARGES PAST HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/15/13) The Dominican College softball team improved to 20-16 overall and remain undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at 16-0 after charging past the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 9-1 and 14-2 in games played at the DC Softball Field.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/15/13) The Dominican College softball team improved to 20-16 overall and remain undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at 16-0 after charging past the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 9-1 and 14-2 in games played at the DC Softball Field.
Game One: DC took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the Tigers tied the game in the second with a run. The Lady Chargers regained the lead in the bottom stanza with a five-run inning to pull ahead 6-1.
A run in the third and two more in the bottom of the fifth ended the game and gave Dominican the 9-1 win.
Julie Plante* (Swansea, Mass.) and Shannon Haukap (Edmonds, Wash.) each had two hits in the win with Haukap adding three RBIs on her sixth home run of the season.
Paige Berzak (Cypress, Calif.) had two RBIs.
Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) got the win (5-4), allowing one run on five hits.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers scored runs in the first three innings to take a commanding 14-0 lead. Holy Family University scored two runs in the fourth for the final 14-2 DC win.
Delaney Childers (Johnstown, Ohio) and Kimberly Ragazzo (Lawrenceville, N.J.) had three hits a-piece in the victory as Ragazzo had a game leading five RBIs.
Four other Lady Chargers had two hits each in the win as Dominican had 15 hits in the victory.
Childers got the win, allowingg two runs (one earned) on five hits and three strikeouts.
