PLANTE NAMED CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA® DIVISION II SOFTBALL TEAM
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/22/13) Dominican College softball player, Julie Plante*, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division II Softball First Team as was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced today.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/22/13) Dominican College softball player, Julie Plante*, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division II Softball First Team as was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced today.
Plante, a senior outfielder from Swansea, Mass., makes her second appearance on the All-America Teams as she earned Third Team inors in 2012.
This is her fourth post season accolade this year. Recently, Plante earned her second consecutive Capital One Academic All-District Softball First Team for District I in NCAA Division II honors, named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) First Team for the third time in her career and made her second straight appearance on the NFCA All-East Region Second Team.
Plante played in every game this season and broke the school's all-time hit record this year. She ranked third in the conference in hits and RBIs, fourth in doubles, fifth in runs scored and seventh in batting average and home runs.
