LADY CHARGERS SPLIT WITH COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE

(3/4/14) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference double-header with the College of Saint Rose in games played tonight at the Dot Richardson Spring Games played in Clermont, Fla. The Golden Knights won the first game 11-0 in six innings, while the Lady Chargers took the nightcap, 6-4.

(3/4/14) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference double-header with the College of Saint Rose in games played tonight at the Dot Richardson Spring Games played in Clermont, Fla. The Golden Knights won the first game 11-0 in six innings, while the Lady Chargers took the nightcap, 6-4.
With the split, Dominican is now 1-3 on the season.
Game One: The Golden Knights limited the Lady Charger offense to just two hits in the 11-0 six inning victory.
Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) suffered the loss (0-2).
Shannon Haukap* (Edmonds, Wash.) and Anne Shiebler (Wrentham, Mass.) had the hits in the game.
Game Two: DC countered in the second game, taking a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI doubles from Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) and Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrenceville, N.J.).
Dominican added a run in the fourth on the RBI single from shorstop Vanessa Parker (Norfolk, Va.).
Saint Rose answered with a four-run fifth inning to go ahead 4-3, but the Lady Chargers tied the score in the sixth on the sac fly from Parker.
DC scored two runs in the seventh after an RBI triple off the bat of Ragazzo and the RBI single from Hogan to secure the 6-4 win.
Ragazzo and Paige Berzak (Cypress, Calif.) each had two hits in the victory, while Ragazzo and Parker each recorded two RBIs.
Ragazzo picked up the win in two innings of relief (1-0).
Emily Larsen (Midlothian, Ill.) went five innings in the no decision, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and six strikeouts.
