LADY CHARGERS SPLIT ON DAY FIVE AT DOT RICHARDSON SPRING GAMES
Clermont, Fla. (3/7/14) The Dominican College softball squad went 1-1 in action today at the Dot Richardson Spring Games held at the National Training Center. DC topped Walsh University, 2-1 before falling to Wilmington University in a non-conference game, 7-1.

Clermont, Fla. (3/7/14) The Dominican College softball squad went 1-1 in action today at the Dot Richardson Spring Games held at the National Training Center. DC topped Walsh University, 2-1 before falling to Wilmington University in a non-conference game, 7-1.
With the split, the Lady Chargers are now 2-6 on the season.
Game One: Walsh scored a run in the top of the first inning to go ahead 1-0 and maintained that lead until the bottom of the sixth inning when DC put two runs on the board.
In the sixth, catcher Shannon Haukap* (Edmonds, Wash.) reached on a one out infield single and moved to second on the walk to Brianna Arends (Raritan, N.J.). A two-out double to left field off the bat of Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrenceville, N.J.) brought home both runs and gave Dominican the 2-1 lead.
Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) retired the side in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the complete game win. In seven innings of work, she allowed one run on five hits.
Game Two: The Wildcats led 1-0 after one inning of play, but the Lady Chargers tied it in the second on the solo home run over the centerfield fence by Hogan for the 1-1 score.
WU scored runs in the third, fourth and sixth inning, taking advantage of five DC errors for the 7-1 victory.
Ragazzo suffered the loss.
Haukap had two hits in the game.
