SOFTBALL ENDS TRIP WITH LOSSES TO STONEHILL COLLEGE
Clermont, Fla. (3/8/14) The Dominican College softball team ended their trip to Florida with two non-conference losses to Stonehill College this morning in games played at the National Training Center.

Clermont, Fla. (3/8/14) The Dominican College softball team ended their trip to Florida with two non-conference losses to Stonehill College this morning in games played at the National Training Center.
With the losses the Lady Chargers are now 2-8 on the season.
Game One: The lone DC run was scored in the third inning as right fielder Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) hit an RBI ground out to plate Shannon Haukap* (Edmonds, Wash.) who had led off the inning with a single to tie the score at 1-1.
SC scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh for the 2-1 win.
Haukap and Shannon Truppi (Little Ferry, N.J.) each had two hits.
Emily Larson (Midlothian, Ill.) took the complete game loss, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and three strikeouts.
Game Two: Stonehill put four runs on the board in the second stanza to go up 4-0, but the Lady Chargers answered in the top of the third as Brianna Arends (Raritan, N.J.) had an RBI single and Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrenceville, N.J.) hit a two-run double to cut the lead to 4-3.
Dominican tied the game in the fourth on an RBI single off the bat of Haukap.
DC took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh after a run-scoring single from Jacqueline Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas). Stonehill produced two runs in the bottom half of the inning for the 6-5 win.
Ragazzo, Anne Shiebler (Wrentham, Mass), Gonzalez and Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) all collected two hits in the game.
Ragazzo suffered the loss in two innings of relief.
