Philadelphia, Pa. (4/3/14) The Dominican College softball squad split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with host, the University of the Sciences in games played today at McNeil Field.

Philadelphia, Pa. (4/3/14) The Dominican College softball squad split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with host, the University of the Sciences in games played today at McNeil Field
With the split the Lady Chargers are now 6-12 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
Game One: The Lady Charger offense came alive in the 7-0 game one victory as they recorded 11 hits.
Dominican struck for a run in the second on the RBI double by Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) and added a run in the fourth on the RBI single also from Hogan.
In the fifth inning, Shannon Haukap* (Edmonds, Wash.) hit a solo home run over the right field fence to make the score 3-0 and DC tacked on three more runs in the sixth on an RBI bunt single from Paige Berzak* (Cypress, Calif.), the RBI double from Jacqueline Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas) and the bases loaded walk to Brianna Arends (Raritan, N.J.) to increase the lead to 6-0.
The final run for Dominican was scored in the seventh on the RBI single through the left side from Shannon Truppi (Little Ferry, N.J.) for the 7-0 win.
Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrence, N.J.) got the win (3-3), scattering just three hits in the complete game win.
Game Two: The Devils led 3-0 after three innings, but DC got on the board in the fourth on the RBI single from designated player Anne Shiebler (Wrentham, Mass.).
Dominican added four runs in the sixth to make the score, 6-5, as Shiebler hit a three-run double to left center field and Truppi hit an RBI double down the left field line.
USCI added two runs in the bottom stanza for the final 8-5 split.
Hogan suffered the loss (2-5).
