SOFTBALL SWEPT BY GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/5/14) The Dominican College softball team was swept in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action by the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 4-1 and 6-1, this afternoon in games played at the DC Softball Field.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/5/14) The Dominican College softball team was swept in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action by the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 4-1 and 6-1, this afternoon in games played at the DC Softball Field.
With the losses the Lady Chargers are now 6-14 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Game One: Dominican went up 1-0 in the bottom of the third stanza when shortstop Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) led off the inning with a solo blast over the centerfield fence.
GCU rallied in the top of the fourth with a three run homer to go ahead 3-1 and added a run in the sixth for the eventual 4-1 win.
Bouffard went 2-2 with one run scored and one RBI in the game.
Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrence, N.J.) took the loss (3-4), allowing four runs on 12 hits.
Game Two: In the night cap, the Lady Chargers once again struck first as they scored a run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first for the 1-0 advantage.
The Lions tied the score in the fourth on a single to right field, went ahead in the fifth with two runs and added three more runs in the sixthh for the eventual 6-1 lead.
Emily Larsen (Midlothian, Ill.) suffered the loss (1-5) in 5 1/3 innings of work, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits. Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) pitched the last 1 2/3 innings.
Dominican is set to be back in action tomorrow as they travel to non-conference foe, Molloy College.
