LADY CHARGERS SOAR PAST GRIFFINS
Philadelphia, Pa. (4/12/14) The Dominican College softball squad soared past host, Chestnut Hill College, in two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games played today at the CHC Softball Field. DC took game one, 10-0 and won the night cap, 6-1.

Philadelphia, Pa. (4/12/14) The Dominican College softball squad soared past host, Chestnut Hill College, in two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games played today at the CHC Softball Field. DC took game one, 10-0 and won the night cap, 6-1.
Game One: Dominican broke a 0-0 score with three runs in the third inning as designated player Anne Shiebler (Wrentham, Mass.) hit a two-run single through the left side and Brianna Arends (Raritan, N.J.) later followed by excuting a squeeze bunt which brought home a run and made the score 3-0.
DC added a run in the fourth on the sacrifice fly ball to right field from third basemen Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrenceville, N.J.).
The Lady Chargers exploded for six runs in the top of the seventh inning as Shannon Truppi (Little Ferry, N.J.) had a run scoring single and shorstop Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) later followed with a two-run single to center field. Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) later hit a two out two-run double to center field. The first run of the inning scored on a foul ball out.
Collins and Haukap each had three hits in the game, while Bouffard, Collins and Shiebler all finished with two RBIs each.
Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) got the complete game shut out win (4-17), scattering just three hits.
Game Two: DC scored two runs in the first stanza on an RBI double to center field from Haukap and a Ragazzo single to right center field to go up 2-0. CHC got a run back in the bottom stanza to make the score 2-1.
Hogan regained a two run lead in the third with a run scoring double to right field and Dominican tacked on three more runs in the fifth inning on a three-run homer by Hogan for the 6-1 lead and eventual win.
Five different Lady Chargers had two hits in the game, with Hogan finishing with three RBIs.
Ragazzo got the win (4-6), allowing one run on just three hits.
With the sweep, Dominican improves to 9-18 overall and 7-6 in CACC play.
