LADY CHARGERS SPLIT WITH GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE
Wilmington, Del. (4/26/14) The Dominican College softball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with host, Goldey-Beacom College, in games played today at the Jackson Athletic Complex. The Lightning took the first game, 7-5, while the Lady Chargers won the night cap, 5-3, now stand at 18-23 overall and 15-11 in conference play.

(4/26/14) The Dominican College softball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with host, Goldey-Beacom College, in games played today at the Jackson Athletic Complex. The Lightning took the first game, 7-5, while the Lady Chargers won the night cap, 5-3, now stand at 18-23 overall and 15-11 in conference play.
Game One: GBC led 6-0 after one inning of play, but DC got a run back in the second on the RBI single through the left side off the bat of Jacqueline Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas). The Lightning added to the lead in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 7-1.
The Lady Chargers scored a run in the fourth inning on the RBI groundout by shortstop Lisa Bouffard (Wallkill, N.Y.) and recorded a three-run seventh inning as Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) hit a two-run single to center field and Shannon Truppi (Little Ferry, N.J.) had a run-scoring single to center field for the final 7-5 score.
Gonzalez had two hits in the loss.
Starter Elizabeth Hogan (San Jose, Calif.) suffered the loss in 1 2/3 innings of work to fall to 7-10 on the season.
Game Two: The game was scoreless through three innings of play in the night cap when the Lady Chargers exploded for five runs in the fourth inning. Hogan scored the first run on a GBC fielding error and Truppi later followed with an RBI single to left field. A squeeze bunt off the bat of Brianna Arends (Raritan, N.J.) brought home the third run of the inning and Gonzaelez hit a two out two-run double down the left field line for the 5-0 lead.
The Lightning scored a run in the bottom stanza and added a run in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings for the final 5-3 score.
Kimberly Ragazzo* (Lawrenceville, N.J.) got the complete game win to improve to 9-7.
