SOFTBALL DROPS TWO AT SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY MARCH INVITE

Saint Leo, Fla. (3/14/15)   The Dominican College women's softball team dropped two games this afternoon at the Saint Leo University March Invite played at University Stadium.  DC fell to Queens College, 3-2 and lost to the host, 8-1.  With the losses, Dominican falls to 1-7 on the season.

Game One:  The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning when the Lady Chargers got on the board with two runs on the double to center field off the bat of shortstop Jillian Regan (Staten Island, N.Y.).

The Knights rallied with two runs in the bottom stanza to tie game and scored the game winning run on a sacrifice fly ball to centerfield in the fourth inning for the 3-2 victory.

Regan led the Lady Charger offense with two hits and two RBIs in the loss.

Madison Dove (Cypress, Calif.) took the loss (1-2) in six innings of work, allowing three runs on on six hits and one strikeout.

Game Two:  In the loss to Saint Leo University, the score was 8-0 after three innings of play.  Dominican got on the board in the fourth inning on the RBI double by Regan to make the score 8-1.

Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) and MacKenzie Wise (Middletown, N.Y.) had the other two Lady Charger hits.

Sophomore Emily Larsen (Midlothian, Ill.) suffered the loss (0-4) allowing eight runs (four earned) on eight hits and two strikeouts.
