LADY CHARGERS DROP TWO AT CITRUS CLASSIC
Orlando, Fla. (2/20/16) The Dominican College softball team lost two games today at the Citrus Classic after falling to Rollins College, 4-1 and nationally ranked University of North Georgia, 8-0 in six innings. Following the losses, the Lady Chargers are now 1-2 on the season.

Orlando, Fla. (2/20/16) The Dominican College softball team lost two games today at the Citrus Classic after falling to Rollins College, 4-1 and nationally ranked University of North Georgia, 8-0 in six innings. Following the losses, the Lady Chargers are now 1-2 on the season.
Game One: Dominican was trailing 2-0 until the top of the fourth inning when shortstop Jillian Regan (Staten Island, N.Y.) delivered a one-out RBI single to score catcher Shannon Haukap* (Edmonds, Wash.), who had led off the stanza with a single.
Rollins would tack on two more runs in the sixth for the 4-1 victory.
Second basemen Brianna Espino (Holland, Ohio) had two hits in the loss.
Junior Emily Larsen (Midlothian, Ill.) suffered the loss (0-1) in four and 1/3 innings of work, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits.
Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) came in for 1 1/3 innings and Jenna Maska (Warren, Mass.) recorded the last out.
Game Two: The Nighthawks scored runs in the first three innings to take a 6-0 lead and added runs in the fifth and sixth en route to the 8-0 win in six innings.
Rightfielder Cheyenne Giarraputo (Kings Park, N.Y.) had the lone hit for the Lady Chargers as she singled to left field to lead off the bottom of the third inning.
Paride took the loss (0-1) in 1 1/3 innings of work, allowing four runs on three hits.
Larsen came in four 4 2/3 innings and allowed four runs on five hits.
Dominican will wrap up play tomorrow at the Citrus Classic as they take on the University of Illinois-Springfield and Queens College.
