LIONS TAKE TWO FROM LADY CHARGERS
Rockville Centre, N.Y. (4/11/16) The Molloy College Lions swept a non-conference double-header from the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College in games played this afternoon at the Bob Klein Field. MC won the opener, 4-0 and took the night cap, 9-1 in five innings.

Rockville Centre, N.Y. (4/11/16) The Molloy College Lions swept a non-conference double-header from the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College in games played this afternoon at the Bob Klein Field. MC won the opener, 4-0 and took the night cap, 9-1 in five innings.
Game One: Molloy took the first game, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning and added two more in the third stanza for the shut out victory.
Shortstop Jillian Regan (Staten Island, N.Y.) went 2-3 in the game.
Desiree Joines (Stewartstown, Pa.) took the loss in 2 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out two batters.
Reliever Emily Larsen* (Midlothian, Ill.) pitched the remaining 3 1/3 innings, scattering two hits and striking out one.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers opened the second game with a run in the top of the first as freshman third basemen Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.) produced a run-scoring double to right centerfield to bring home Emily Luzetsky (Bel Air, Md.) and give DC the 1-0 advantage.
Molloy countered with a nine run bottom of the second inning to take the lead and eventual win.
Gilligan and designated player Shannon Haukap* (Edmonds, Wash.) each had two hits in the loss.
Starter Jenna Maska (Warren, Mass.) suffered the loss in 1 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on seven hits.
Following the losses, the Lady Chargers now stand at 18-13-1 on the season.
