The game was scoreless until the bottom of the second inning when right fielder Samantha Fitzgerald (Fishkill, N.Y.) singled up-the-middle to bring home Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.).
DC added two more runs in the third as designated player, Alexandria Ledgerwood (Salem, Ore.) hit a two-run blast to center field to increase the lead to 3-0.
Centerfielder Alyssa Schwed (Kinnelon, N.J.) hit a three-run shot over the right center field fence in the fifth and Gilligan later followed with an RBI single to left to make the score 7-0.
Junior Jenna Maska (Warren, Mass.) improved to 1-0 on the season after going five innings, scattering just two hits and striking out three batters.
Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) picked up her first save of the season in two innings of relief, collecting two strikeots and allowing one hit.
Schwed finished with three RBIs, while Ledgerwood had two hits and two RBIs.
The Lady Chargers will take on Merrimack College tomorrow afternoon in a non-conference double-header.
