FITZGERALD AND LARSEN EARN CACC WEEKLY SOFTBALL ACCOLADES
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/21/17) Dominican College softball players, Samantha Fitzgerald and Emily Larsen have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Co-Player and Rookie of the Week and the Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending March 19th as was announced by the conference office today.

Fitzgerald, a freshman outfielder from Wallkill, N.Y., went 12-34 in 10 games played last week to earn the Co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors. She recorded three doubles, four runs scored and six runs batted in to finish the week witha .353 batting average, a .371 on-base percentage and a .441 slugging percentage. In the field, Fitzgerald made 14 put outs to sport a .933 fielding percentage.
Larsen, the senior pitcher who hails from Midlothian, Ill., made six appearances last week, including one start, and was strong each time out, as she went 2-0 to help lead the Lady Chargers. Over 19.1 innings of work, Larsen struck out 22 batters, walked only 10 and yielded just eight earned runs and 16 hits over that time. She earned wins over Pace and Edinboro.
This is their first weekly honors this seasom.
