Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/17/17) The Molloy College Lions swept a non-conference double-header from host Dominican College, 1-0 and 3-0, this afternoon in games played at the DC Softball Field.
With the losses, Dominican drops to 18-15 on the season.
Game One: Senior Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) threw a perfect game for the Lions in the opener, striking out 14 of the 21 batters she faced en route to the 1-0 win.
Lady Charger starter Desiree Joines (Stewartstown, Pa.) suffered the loss (5-8), allowing one run on three hits and four strikeouts.
Game Two: The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when the Lions scored three runs on four hits and one error to lead them to the 3-0 shut out win.
Designated player Taylor Daniels (Watervliet, N.Y.) had two hits in the loss, while catcher Emily Luzetsky (Bel Air, Md.) and senior Shannon Truppi (Little Ferry, N.J.) had the other two Lady Charger hits.
Starter Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) took the loss (6-4) in six innings of work, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and eight strikeouts.
