LADY CHARGERS END REGULAR SEASON WITH SPLIT
Bronxville, N.Y. (5/2/17) The Dominican College women's softball squad ended regular season play with a split against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Concordia College, in games played this afternoon at Clipper Softball Field. The Clippers took the opener, 3-0, while the Lady Chargers won the second game, 4-1.

(5/2/17) The Dominican College women's softball squad ended regular season play with a split against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Concordia College, in games played this afternoon at Clipper Softball Field. The Clippers took the opener, 3-0, while the Lady Chargers won the second game, 4-1.
Game One: The Clippers shut out the Lady Chargers in the opener, scoring three runs (none earned) on six hits.
All-CACC First Team selection, Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) took the loss (8-5).
Game Two: The Lady Chargers produced two runs in the top of the first on a wild pitch and a sacrfice fly ball from out fielder Samantha Fizgerald (Fishkill, N.Y.).
Concordia put a run on the board in the third stanza, but DC regained a two run lead in the fifth inning as they scored on an error and added a run in the seventh on the run-scoring single through the left side off the bat of Taylor Daniels (Watervliet, N.Y.) for the final 4-1 victory.
Daniels finished with three hits.
Shannon Truppi (Little Ferry, N.J.), Emily Luzetsky (Bel Air, Md.) and Jillian Regan (Staten Island, N.Y.) all had two hits in the game, while Luzetsky scored two runs.
Junior Jenna Maska (Warren, Mass.) picked up the win in five innings of work, allowing one run (not earned) on two hits and five strikeouts.
Desiree Joines (Stewartstown, Pa.) picked up her first save of the year in two inings of work.
With the split, Dominican ends the season with an overall record of 27-20 and a CACC record of 18-8.
The Lady Chargers have earned the third seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament, scheduled to begin this coming Thursday. DC will take on the #6 Golden Falcons of Felician University at 12pm on field 2 at the campus of Georgian Court University.
