FOUR SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-CACC ACCOLADES
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/1/18) Four members of the Dominican College softball team have earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honors as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara today. Voting for the awards was conducted by the league's 14 head coaches in the sport.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/1/18) Four members of the Dominican College softball team have earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honors as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara today. Voting for the awards was conducted by the league's 14 head coaches in the sport.
Taylor Daniels (Watervliet, N.Y.) and Samantha Fitzgerald (Fishkill, N.Y.) were named to the All-CACC First Team, while Jillian Regan and Jennifer Paride earned All-CACC Second Team accolades.
Daniels, a senior second basemen, makes her first All-CACC appearance this season. She is sixth in the conference in home runs and slugging percentage, seventh in on-base percentage and ninth in batting average and RBIs. Daniels leads the team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, doubles and home runs while sitting second in hits. She currently has earned one CACC Player of the Week honors and was named to the Weekly Honor Roll twice this season.
Fitzgerald, a sophomore outfielder, also makes her first All-CACC appearance this season. She leads the team in RBIs and runs scored, is second in hits and fourth in batting average. Fitzgerald is third in the CACC in RBIs, ninth in runs scored, 13th in doubles and 17th in hits.
Regan, a senior shortstop, earns her third All-CACC accoldes as she was named to the First Team in 2016 and the Second Team in 2015, while also being named the Rookie of the Year in 2015. She ranks eighth in the conference in doubles, 10th in RBIs, 12th in slugging percentage, 14th in batting average and 20th in on-base percentage. Regan is second on the team in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage, while being tied for third in hits and is third in RBIs.
Paride, a junior pitcher, earns her second consecutive All-CACC honor as she was named to the First Team in 2016. She ranks fourth in the conference in appearances, sixth in strikeouts, seventh in wins, 11th in innings pitched, 12th in complete games and 13th in shut outs. Paride leads the team in innings pitched, strikeouts, wins and earned run average (ERA).
