Clermont, Fla. (3/15/19) The Dominican College softball team finished their week of games in Clermont, Florida at THE Spring Games with a split.
In game one, the Lady Chargers fell to the Falcons of Bentley University by a score of 9-0 in five innings. DC was able to bounce back to defeat the Crimson Hawks Indiana (Pa.) by a score of 4-1. After their doubleheader, the Lady Chargers now stand at 3-8 overall on the season.
Game One: The Lady Chargers and the Falcons both went scoreless in the first inning. The Falcons used a huge second inning to jump out in front 7-0. The Falcons added two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning which solidified the win in five innings.
Alyssa Seiss (Queens, N.Y.), Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.), and Alyssa Schwalb (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) each recorded a hit for DC. Gilligan had a double in the loss.
Elise Pereira hit a homer for the Falcons in the win and finished the game with two RBI's. Ashley Keegan pitched a full five innings to earn her third win of the season.
