PIONEERS TAKE TWO FROM LADY CHARGERS
Brookville, N.Y. (3/28/19) The Dominican College softball team dropped two non-conference games to host, LIU Post University, in games played today at the LIU Softball Complex. The Pioneers won the first game, 7-4 and took the nightcap, 7-1 to win their 11th straight game.

Brookville, N.Y. (3/28/19) The Dominican College softball team dropped two non-conference games to host, LIU Post University, in games played today at the LIU Softball Complex. The Pioneers won the first game, 7-4 and took the nightcap, 7-1 to win their 11th straight game.
Following the loss, Dominican falls to 6-11 overall.
Game One: Dominican jumped out to an 2-0 lead in the top of the first as Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) came home on a bunt by Samantha Fitzgerald (Fishkill, N.Y.). Sophomore Alyssa Schwalb (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) delivered a two out run-scoring single to centerfield to plate Emily Luzetsky (Bel Air, Md.) and take a 2-0 lead.
The Pioneers rallied with runs in the second, third and fifth innings to pull ahead 7-2. DC added two more runs in their final at-bat on a Pioneer throwing error and a single up-the-middle off the bat of designated player, Alexandria Ledgerwood (Salem, Ore.) for the final 7-4 score.
Pitcher Madeline Uschock (Greensburg, Pa.) took the complete game loss (5-5), while striking out five batters.
Luzetsky went 4-4 with two runs scored in the contest.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers rallied with two out to bring home a run on RBI single from Ledgerwood to take the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. LIU rallied with two runs in the bottom frame en route to the 7-1 win.
Andrea Hester (Yorba Linda, Calif.) went 3-4 in the game. Ledgerwood, Bowe and freshman Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) all had two hits in the loss.
Senior Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) suffered the loss.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Goldey-Beacom College at 12pm on the DC Softball Field.
